Mankato Area Public Schools receives information regarding in-person attendance at sports events
Mankato Area Public Schools has received information from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) regarding in-person attendance for the upcoming football and current volleyball sports seasons:
MDH has set capacity at 250 spectators for all Minnesota high school stadiums, meaning East and West high schools' football games will be limited to 125 spectators per team. Tickets for in-person attendance at homes games are sold out. For those who have purchased a Big Southeast Season Pass, the pass will be required to enter the event. For health and safety, walk-up general admission ticket sales, district identification cards and other passes will not be accepted.
With the recent MDE guideline change to allow spectators at indoor Minnesota State High School League events, the Big 9 Conference has developed this spectator policy for all matches through Monday, October 12:
-Visiting fans will not be admitted.
-Home fan admittance will be monitored by staff (two predetermined spectators allowed per athlete).
-Host school will communicate information with families, fans and community.
The policy will be reassessed on Monday morning (October 12).
Fans are asked to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 by:
-Staying home if sick.
-Social distancing by keeping at least six feet away from others.
-Wearing face coverings/masks that cover nose and mouth, fitting snuggly against the sides of the face.
