BID DATE AND LOCATION:
Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received, publicly opened, and read aloud by
representatives of Mankato Area Public Schools at Mankato Intergovernmental Center, located
at 10 Civic Center Plaza, in said City at 2:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, for
furnishing of all work and materials for consideration of the project: East High School Coffee
Shop.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Construction Documents and Project Manual describe general construction of a coffee shop.
The work includes, but is not limited to, selective demolition, interior partitions, interior finishes,
restaurant equipment, mechanical equipment, plumbing fixtures and piping, lighting, and
electrical systems.

Construction work for the project is shown on the drawings and defined in the Project Manual as
prepared by Oleson + Hobbie Architects LLC of Mankato, MN.

Bidding Documents can be downloaded for a non-refundable charge of $15.00 at QuestCDN.
Plan holders are parties that have downloaded the drawings and specifications. Plan holders
will be notified via email as addenda are issued. Parties that download the drawings and
specifications and need to have them printed elsewhere are solely responsible for those printing
costs. The sales of paper copies for projects listed on this site are not available.

A pre-bid meeting for bidders and contractors to view the location of the work will be conducted
at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Mankato East High School, 2600 Hoffman Road,
Mankato, MN.

WORK ON THIS PROJECT MUST BE COMPLETED BY: AUGUST 20, 2021.
The Project will be sales tax exempt.

Bids must be on the basis of cash payment for the work and materials, and no bid will be
considered unless sealed and filed with the School District and accompanied by a cash deposit,
certified check, or bidder’s bond, payable to the School District, for not less than 5% of the bid,
as a guarantee that the bidder will, within ten (10) days after notification of the award of contract,
enter into an agreement with the School District and furnish a bond for the full amount of the
contract as provided for by law. This deposit will be subject to forfeiture as provided by law.
Cash deposits, certified checks, and bidder’s bonds of the three (3) lowest bidders may be
retained until the contract has been awarded and executed, but no longer than 60 days from the
date of opening bids. All other deposits will be refunded promptly.

The School District reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informalities
therein; and to adjourn the meeting to a later date for the purpose of further consideration of the
bids and taking action thereon. No bid may be withdrawn within 60 days from the date of
opening of bids.

The School Board will consider award of contract at their regular meeting held on Monday, April
5, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.
