Thursday, March 5th 2020 at 2:00PM at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bidders are invited to attend. Bids received after this time will be returned unopened.
Bids shall be upon form included in specification documents. Envelopes containing bids must be sealed and marked “2020 Roof Repair and Maintenance Project”, with the name and ad- dress of the bidder and the date of the opening. Bids shall be delivered to:
The complete form shall be without alterations, additions or erasures. All bids shall be on a lump sum basis.
Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check from a solvent bank in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid, payable to the Owner, as security that if awarded the work the bidder will fulfill all contractural obligations.
All Contractors must attend the mandatory pre-bid conference to inspect the job site and to en- sure comprehension of the specifications. The pre-bid meeting shall be held Tuesday, February 18th, 2020 at 1:00 PM., at the District office located at 10 Civic Center Plaza, Mankato, MN 56002. Specifications will be available at Mankato Area Public Schools and shall be distributed at the time of the pre-bid meeting. Contractors who do not attend the pre-bid conference shall be disqualified from bidding. For additional information contact Mr. Scott Hogen, Mankato Area Public Schools (507) 345-5311.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive informalities or irregularities and enter into such contract or contracts as deemed in the best interests of the Mankato Area Public School District.
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Provide electric service upgrades at two buildings. Franklin Elementary will be upgraded to a 2500A service. Washington Elementary will be upgraded to a 2000A service. New switch boards in both buildings will also part of this work. Building system improvements include all sitework, electrical, mechanical, and general construction for a complete electric service upgrade project. Project will be bid as a single prime contract for all the work as shown on the project plans and specifications. The work is planned to begin in April of 2020 with substantial completion (building power on) by August 7, 2020.
BID DATE AND LOCATION:
Sealed bids will be received in the Mankato Area Public Schools District Office at 10 Civic Center Plaza, Mankato, MN 56001. Base Bids will be received and stamped-in prior to 1:00 PM local time on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 then publicly opened and read aloud. Bids must be accompanied by bid security in form of certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond in amount of 5% of base bid submitted, made payable to owner, as guarantee that bidder will, if awarded, enter into contract in accordance with contract documents and submitted bid.
EXAMINATION OF DOCUMENTS:
Bidders may view drawings and specifications for the project by contacting the Owner’s Representative. For Electronic access to the bidding documents, please contact the Owner’s Representative (763) 354-2670. The Owner’s Representative can also provide locations of Builders Exchange’s holding plans for contractors to access. Bidders are responsible for any and all costs associated with the production of plans and specifications for their use.
BIDDING DOCUMENTS & SITE REVIEW:
Prior to submitting a bid, each bidder is required to examine all of the bidding requirements, all Contract Documents, all drawings and specifications for the Project (including those primarily for other Subcontracts), become thoroughly familiar with the scope of the Project and all factors and items of work which will affect his bid or the Work, whether shown or specified in documents primarily for Work of others or Work of this Contract.
A pre-bid conference will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 27 at Franklin Elementary School, 100 North Broad Street, Mankato, MN 56001. The pre-bid conference for Washington Elementary School will be held at 2:00 PM at 1100 Anderson Drive, Mankato, MN 56001. No extras will be allowed because of the bidder's misinterpretation to the amount of work involved, bidder's own error, negligence, or failure to examine the site. Prevailing wage rates apply.
Upon award of Contract, Contractor shall provide AIA A312 Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of 100% of Contract Sum in accordance with General Conditions and Amendments to General Conditions.
Work may begin after receipt of the signed contract from the Owner. Pre-construction and submittals work related to the project is to commence immediately after receipt of the signed contract.
Owner requires work to be substantially complete on or before milestone dates as listed in Summary of Work, Section 01 01 00. Bids shall reflect all costs necessary to meet this schedule requirement.
